Muskegon Brake & Tire - Broadway Ave
Work completed 5/5 Communication 3/5 My cons- 1. I had my car at Betten service department for some warranty work a week or two before and they let me know my brakes and rotors needed to be replaced (front and rear). So I started to call around for some estimates to see where I could get the best price. I called 3 other places and was given estimates and then called Muskegon Brake and Tire. The receptionist asked for my year, make and model and then told me $475 for front and $475 for rear totaling $950 + tax. With them being cheaper and able to get me in soonest, I scheduled with Muskegon Brake and Tire. Upon arrival I was informed I was going to be paying a $34.50 inspection fee (wasn’t told on the phone this) and that it was actually going to be $530.50 (front) and $511.68 (rear). That made it $92.18 + $34.50 more than I was quoted on the phone. 2. The receptionist also said it would take about two hours to complete the work if they had the parts in stock. I called around an hour and a half later once they sent the quote and asked how long and she estimated 2pm since they take an hour lunch 12-1pm. We were staying local since we were told it wouldn’t take that long. We have a 1, 3, 5 and 8 year old so bringing them home and loading them in the car multiple times a day isn’t ideal. Ended up being 24ish hours for the job to be completed. I did have to have front calipers replaced which they said they had to order. Pros- 1. VERY thorough. Their software they text their quotes over is very informative! They take pictures of most things wrong and attach them so you can review it for yourself. Also check my oil, brake fluid, windshield wiper fluid, air filter, tires and coolant. I opted into the oil change (83.41)! 2. Price for brakes really wasn’t terrible. I got more that were more expensive than that were cheaper. 3. They give you a print out of every thing they found wrong and every thing they repaired on your vehicle once paid. Very nice to have so you don’t forget and if you don’t take it there you have documentation. 4. All receptionist were very kind to talk to on the phone. Will I bring a vehicle back there again, probably yes. Will I ask for a hard quote next time, absolutely.
