Driving Tips for Antique Car Owners

Drive! One of the best ways to maintain the health of your vintage or classic car is to drive it. Just like people, antique vehicles need to be “exercised” to keep all their systems functioning at their best, so enjoy your vintage vehicle by driving it.

Monitor fluids and air pressure. Low fluids are typically the first indicator of a problem beneath the hood, and uneven or improperly inflated tires can cause problems with alignment and steering, so monitor these frequently.

Listen to your car. Old vehicles are very vocal. Chances are, if there is a problem with one or more components, the problem will impact the vehicle’s performance and the sounds it makes. Make it a habit to listen to your car’s regular sounds and take note of any irregular sounds or unusual handling.
